30th Vattenfall BERLIN HALF MARATHON on March 28th, 2010
World class finishing times by international elite runners and many personal records among the runners in the big field of leisure time runners once again made this half marathon a landmark event in the international calendar of road races. 25.193 participants including inline skaters and Fun Runners are a record result one more time. Kenyan runner Bernerd Kipyego was a surprise winner who set an impressive mark of 59:34 minutes in his first attempt in the half marathon. German runner Sabrina Mockenhaupt ran up to the expectations and won with a personal best of 1:08:45 hours. Main sponsor Vattenfall supported charity movement Moby Dick with one Euro per participant. Moby Dick is helping overweight children and their families to get down their weight by being active and choosing the right diet.

Bernard Kipyego and Sabrina Mockenhaupt won the men’s and women’s titles at the 29th Vattenfall BERLIN HALF MARATHON. The Kenyan took the title in the world-class time of 59:34, making one of the fastest debuts ever at the half-marathon while Germany’s women’s champion improved her personal best to 68:45, the fastest time by a German woman this year. A total of 25,193 runners from 85 countries entered the 29th edition of the Vattenfall BERLIN HALF-MARATHON, including 21,725 for the half marathon distance of 21.0975 km. More...

Sunday’s Vattenfall BERLIN HALF MARATHON will be the first major international road race in Germany this year. A record number of 21,679 runners from 85 nations have entered the race.
