36th real,- BERLIN-MARATHON: September 20^th, 2009

In 2008 Ethiopian running legend Haile Gebrselassie broke his own world record of 2:04: 26 set 2007 in Berlin by almost half a minute (2:03:59 hrs) being now the first runner in history to stay under 2:04 hours for the 26 mile course. A record number of 35.783 finishers from 107 countries were cheered on by a million spectators along the streets of the German capital at perfect weather conditions.

36th real,- BERLIN MARATHON Inline Skating: Skater festival of the year at a late-summer marathon

Once again this year, the real,- BERLIN MARATHON made for an excellent skater festival. Who was paying any attention to the World Championships in China? The pros from the World Inline Cup did not look as if they were feeling like they were in the wrong place, at least. Everyone who participated completely enjoyed the enthusiasm and attention from the spectators. Haile Gebrselassie won the real,- BERLIN-MARATHON for the fourth year in succession this morning.
