36th real,- BERLIN MARATHON sold out. Haile Gebrselassie will try for another world record in Berlin on September 20th

Four months ahead of the event the 36th real,- BERLIN-MARATHON on September 20th is fully booked. Only several travel agents and charities still offer reserved entries. Please click here. 2008-2009 World Marathon Majors Series resumes in April with Wanjiru and Mikitenko atop the leaderboard

FotoThe second half of the 2008-09 World Marathon Majors series continues this spring as reigning men's champion Martin Lel of Kenya returns to defend his Flora London Marathon title on April 26 against one of the strongest fields ever assembled for a big city race. A head to head showdown pits the Olympic champion and World Marathon Majors (WMM) Series leader Sammy Wanjiru (40 points) of Kenya against his compatriot and closest rival, the defending Flora London Marathon champion Lel (26 points), on the streets of the British capital. Fast times for Kipyego and Mockenhaupt in the 29th Vattenfall BERLIN HALF MARATHON

FotoBernard Kipyego and Sabrina Mockenhaupt won the men’s and women’s titles at the 29th Vattenfall BERLIN HALF MARATHON. The Kenyan took the title in the world-class time of 59:34, making one of the fastest debuts ever at the half-marathon while Germany’s women’s champion improved her personal best to 68:45, the fastest time by a German woman this year. A total of 25,193 runners from 85 countries entered the 29th edition of the Vattenfall BERLIN HALF-MARATHON, including 21,725 for the half marathon distance of 21.0975 km. More...
