第35回リアル・ベルリンマラソン 2008年9月28日開催
2008 年 9 月 28 日、リアル・ベルリンマラソン は、大会35周年を祝います。今年もまた、 100 万人の観客と 70 のライブバンドが沿道を埋め尽くし、世界一早いマラソンコースに集った 4 万人のランナーに、熱狂的な声援を送るでしょう。
第 35 回リアル・ベルリンマラソン のスタートラインに立つ意味は、世界で一番早いランナーと同じ 42.195 キロを走るということにとどまりません。他に類をみない盛り上がりで常にランナーを励ます沿道の応援、ゴール直前に堂々とそびえる歴史的建造物ブランデンブルク門の下を実際に走り抜ける感激、コース最後の 400 メートルに設けられた観客席からおくられる惜しみのない拍手と歓声に背中を押されてのゴールが、あなた自身のベルリンでのマラソンを忘れがたい体験にすることをお約束します。

The wet and rainy course could not hinder them: Nicolas Iten from Switzerland and Hilde Goovaerts from Belgium captured victory at the world痴 largest inline marathon in Berlin. Despite the pouring rain, about 150,000 spectators lined the course and cheered on the just-for-fun and pro skaters. This was his seventh attempt at the marathon, and Haile Gebrselassie finally succeeded in one of the objectives he set himself when he launched himself into the 42.2k race five years ago. He broke the world record in the real,- BERLIN-MARATHON today, running 2.04.26, taking 29 seconds off the record of friend and rival, Paul Tergat of Kenya, who ran 2.04.55 in this same event in 2003. 典his was something special, said the 34 year old Ethiopian immediately after he emerged from a scrum of photographers, water dripping from his face from the bottle he upended on himself at the conclusion of his run on a cool and overcast Berlin morning. Ambition is a fine thing. And it痴 even finer when the person harbouring the ambition has the talent and drive to achieve it. Haile Gebrselassie doesn稚 lack any of the aforementioned attributes, but he痴 always been cautious about announcing targets in such a precarious event as the marathon, the more so when his record at 42k has been somewhat less auspicious than the rest of his illustrious career.
