30th Vattenfall BERLIN HALF MARATHON with 27,051 athletes from 94 nations

FotoEthiopia’s Eshetu Wondimu has ended Kenya’s win streak at the 30th Vattenfall BERLIN HALF MARATHON on Sunday. The 28 year-old took the race in a fine 60:16 minutes, beating Peter Kirui (Kenya) by just one second in the final sprint. Ethiopia’s Maregu Zewdie took third place with 60:24. Kenyans had won the Vattenfall BERLIN HALF MARATHON eight times in a row from 2002. 21 year-old Pasalia Kipkoech won the women’s race in 69:43 minutes from her fellow Kenyan Eunice Kales (69:50). 30th Vattenfall BERLIN HALF MARATHON record field of 23,799 runners on Sunday: Wondimu and Kiprotich target fast times, Mockenhaupt intends to defend her title

FotoA record field of 23,799 runners from 94 countries will compete in Sunday’s 30th edition of the Vattenfall BERLIN HALF MARATHON. Among them is a strong elite field. And the fastest men will once again target a sub one hour time in Germany’s biggest and best quality half marathon. Public Transportation in Berlin with limited Capacities

FotoDue to technical problems with trains public transportation in Berlin is working on limited capacities. Please, check with your hotel and/or travel group management, and plan for more time on race day morning. Trains are running less frequently than normally. Problems occur only at lines of the S-Bahn.
